Caretaker of St. Michael’s Grounds
I am sad to announce that Don Long would like to retire from his duties at St. Michael’s site. Don is basically the caretaker of the buildings and grounds around the church and hall. It does not include snow removal and mowing. Don opens the hall when it is reserved for an event and then cleans up after it. He also maintains the floors and general cleaning in the church. There are several seasonal duties Don performs. If you are interested in this position and would like to receive more information, please call or stop by the parish office and ask to speak to Dave Wieland.
November Special Second Collection
On the weekend of November 23-24, we had our monthly
special collection for the church environment. This cause can pertain to most of the decorations which can beautify each church during the different seasons. Once again, I want to thank everyone who contributed to this cause. If you were not in town last weekend, please remember you can still put the special monthly envelope in the collection basket at your earliest convenience, drop by the parish office to make your donation, or put it in the weekend collection in an envelope marked “November Special Collection”. As of Monday, November 25, the amount collected was $3,274. Thank you for your generosity.
Kossuth County Food Pantry
Over the years, St. Cecelia has had the most active role in operating the Kossuth County Food Pantry. All the local churches have a member on the board, but it has been up to St. Cecelia to oversee the operation of the facility. Henry Ricke has been kind enough to have run it for at least the last five years. He wants to retire, so we are looking for a new director for the pantry. If you are interested but would like more information, please either call the parish office and ask for Dave Wieland or stop by to visit. This is a large need in the area because we are servicing about 700 people a month. Please consider this position to help Kossuth County.
