The annual Mulligan Stew celebration in St. Joseph was a smashing success Wednesday night! Good food and fun was had by all.
You wouldn't know it glancing at the little town of St. Joseph any other day, but every year on an evening in the middle of August, it's the place to be for many locals (and then some--I know some people drive at least 40 miles for the event. I wonder who traveled the farthest this year?). The highway through town can get mighty busy.
The Knights of Columbus have hosted this community event for 66 years at the St. Joseph Church, serving up their hearty stew, pie, ice cream, pop, and beer. They also had games for the kids to play, and a country store. Praise God for the beautiful sunny day, too.
Thank you, Knights of Columbus and your families, for putting this on that hundreds of people enjoyed. I'm looking forward to next year already!
Pints of Mulligan Stew went fast in the drive thru.
People filled the tent to enjoy their stew and visit with neighbors.
