Eucharistic Adoration Adorers, I would like to start off by thanking each and every one of you for your continued dedication to adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Without you, there would be no adoration chapel. Our main goal right now is to get back to perpetual, 24/7 adoration like we had for 36 years prior to Covid. On Dec. 7th , we will be opening the chapel back up through the night from Thursdays at 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday mornings. We currently have one hour left to fill from 2-3 a.m. I please ask for your assistance in prayer and spreading the word so we can get this hour covered. Our adoration chapel is a privilege. To put things into perspective, the only other church that offers adoration in our diocese like we do is the cathedral in Sioux City. We are extremely blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with Jesus at any hour of the day - or night - that we desire. As we begin the new liturgical year, I wanted to review the adoration chapel etiquette: 1. Please use the gathering place outside the chapel for conversations. Let’s not forget whose presence we are in front of while in the chapel. 2. Do not place your hands on the monstrance and Do not pull on the cloth to pull Him out of the tabernacle. The only thing required of us is to unlock and open the tabernacle doors. There is never any reason to move or touch the monstrance. 3. Leave the shade down and the door closed to the sanctuary when mass or any liturgy is taking place in the church. 4. During a mass, an adorer can stay in adoration, or lock the tabernacle and attend mass but cannot do both. Many have asked about this, and the new policy states that being in the chapel with the sanctuary door open during mass does not allow you to fully participate in the mass. 5. Remember that all are welcome at any time. Again, I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the adoration chapel. These serve as a gentle reminder and good review for all of us. Thank you, Abby Cunningham
